AerCap Orders 15 Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners
AerCap, the world’s largest lessor of Boeing 787 Dreamliners, has placed a new order for 15 Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners. With the latest agreement, AerCap’s 787 Dreamliner portfolio has grown to approximately 140 aircraft.
Under the deal, AerCap has also secured the flexibility to convert its order to the higher-capacity 787-10 if required, allowing the company to better meet the evolving capacity needs of its airline customers.
AerCap CEO Aengus Kelly said the new order further strengthens the company’s position as the world’s largest owner of the 787 Dreamliner. He noted that demand for modern, fuel-efficient widebody aircraft continues to grow and highlighted the Dreamliner family’s operational efficiency and versatility across a wide range of long-haul networks.
Stephanie Pope, President and CEO of Boeing Commercial Airplanes, said AerCap’s latest investment in the 787 Dreamliner family underscores the aircraft’s economic advantages on long-haul routes and its important role in enhancing global connectivity. She also welcomed the continuation of the long-standing partnership between Boeing and AerCap.
